Using a combination of shaded relief layers downloaded from Kenneth Field’s Terrain Toolset and some custom color ramps, this map uses hypsometric tints to highlight the physical geography of the Pacific Northwest
A road atlas of the arrowhead region of Minnesota.
Using some public data and a lot of manual digitizing, I created a map of the city of Lusaka, Zambia in order to aid anti-poaching forces set up more effective road blocks to stem the trade of illegal animal products. Work was done in QGIS, the opensource alternative to ArcGIS.

From digitizing trees and buildings to taking GPS points of all sewer drains on campus, this exercise covered every aspect in delineating watersheds and flow patterns in order to mitigate flooding in hypothetical rainfall events.
